So, the last time I had a procedure that used general anesthetic I woke up, felt fine, went straight to a Mexican restaurant, had a wonderful lunch with Wendy (who drove me) and was perfectly fine.
This time, I woke up, felt fine, went to Red Robin and had a light lunch with plenty of fluids with Brian (who drove me) and was perfectly fine...until, twenty minutes later as I was waiting for my 800 mg prescription to be filled. Nausea hit me hard, but I managed to maintain positive control over my lunch and we made it home.
I, needless to say, felt like crap.
Popping a Norco and setting up the cooling machine on my knee, I was out like a light by 3:30 pm. I woke up around 8:00 pm and by 8:30 lost what little of my lunch was still in my stomach. I still hadn't taken the mega aspirin since some of the side effect included nausea. I had plenty, so no thank you.
Okay, okay. I needed it to help with the swelling. I ate an apple and took a pill. That lasted all of 20 minutes.
The cooling machine was just going to have to handle the job on it's own for a while.
I slept surprisingly well through the night and this morning took one of those aspirins with a protein shake. That was about three hours ago and I am just fine.
I even managed to do the series of exercises I'd been given for my knee. They were challenging, but I interspersed them with stretches and my knee and few other places feel pretty damn good.
So, this was off to a rough start, but it's looking better today and I'm looking forward to removing the bandage around the knee and finding Hello-Kitty Band-Aids for the incisions.
